About the Vidyalaya

Mahacharya Vidyalaya was founded by Poojya Vidwan Sri Pradumnacharya Joshi in the auspicious presence and blessings of Sri 1008 Sri Satyatma Theertha Swamigalu, in 1999.

The Vidyalaya is more popularly called the Jodu Venkataramana Devasthana as it houses two beautiful idols of Lord Venkateshwara – one 6 feet, the other 3 feet. It also has an idol of Mukhya Pranadevaru.

The Vidyalaya follows the old Sanatana Gurukula tradition of educating the students in Vyakarana, Vedanta, Meemamsa, Sahitya, Nyaya Shastra, Purana, and Paurohitya (Yagnik) coupled with Financial and Operations management. Students join the Vidyapeetha at a very young age and continue their education for 12 years while staying at the Vidyapeeta. All the students’ basic needs such as food, clothes, books and accommodation are provided and taken care of for free by the Vidyalaya.

The Vidyalaya holds itself socially responsible through supporting the community with it’s gaushala, organising blood donation camps, providing free education and care for children from economically challenged families

Many student alums have completed the auspicious “Sriman Nyaya Sudha Mangala” at the Vidyapeetha under the guidance of Kulapati Poojya Sri Pradumnacharya Joshi and have settled all over Karnataka while being actively involved in Dharmakaryas.
